Nostale Classic

  • Hello, the NosTale Classic idea was suggested several times on Discord, but it always gathers way more negative reactions than positive ones. If the playerbase does not agree in the idea to start with, it's difficult to consider it for development, since it's something that would require lot of effort and it's not clear it would bring much in return.

It's funny how you see negative reactions on Discord but completely zero negative reactions here. You know why? Because old players who would like (and would come back for) Nostale Classic don't even know about the Discord server so they don't share their opinion there. Back in the days there was only this forum that is close to being dead now, and people stumble upon this topic because they are literally googling for Nostale Classic.

Classic would be a banger, trust me.

  • To be fair I doubt he only takes feedback/suggestions from 1 place but multiple across all social platforms: Discord, Forum, Reddit, Steam Discussions, FB and whatever else they have along with in-game.

The argument is mostly, how many of us old players would actually stick around for longer than 2-3 months or so after we get the nostalgia fix, it is a risky investment of resources from their part and it is understandable.

I get your point, and I agree that nostalgia alone isn’t enough to keep players long-term. But I think it’s not just about bringing old players back for 2–3 months — it’s about using that initial interest as a starting point to build a stronger and more active community.

Yeah, it’s a risk — but not doing anything or ignoring a large part of the community is also a risk. I think a balanced approach would go a long way.
There is always a merge option if it doesn’t go as planned :)

Trust me, this would bring many players back. NosTale would naturally evolve over time, just like it did before, and people would stay just like they did before.

I also don’t think this would require such a huge investment in terms of resources.

Tell me honestly — would you be part of it? :)

    Best regards

  • I would love a classic Nostale version!

I miss the vibes of the old version, 2008/2009 is when I started playing when Act 4 was fresh, the old maps like Nosville and the old marketplace, old character profile pictures and the ui!

Would love like this which I grew up with

    ?

    These ones are cool too

Admins, any chance we can get an estimated release date for Classic NosTale? :D
The hype is real and a lot of people are waiting. ALW + W

  • Dear all :)

    Daveius

It's a bit disappointing to hear that there are no plans for Classic NosTale at the moment.

I would also like to ask if there is any chance we could see a new server in the near future with slower progression and a more beginner-friendly environment. A server designed for new players, with a fresh economy and community.

And would it be possible for such a server to remain separate and not be merged with the existing servers later on?

    Thank you!

  • Hello,

The last times we tried a server of such nature, they just didn't work. Especially after the first NosFire server, we introduced players to a new concept of server that would change forever the expectations of the community. So, based on verifiable experience, this is not an option anymore.

  • It feels a bit disappointing to hear that,

    Daveius.

I still believe a true NosTale Classic could be a completely different story.

The examples you mentioned were mainly new servers with slower progression, but that's not necessarily what many of us are asking for. A Classic server is about recreating the original NosTale experience that so many players fell in love with.

Just look at what has happened with other games: WoW Classic, Old School RuneScape, and now even Riot has announced a League of Legends Classic experience. These aren't small companies making random decisions—they've seen that there's a huge audience willing to return to the original gameplay because nostalgia has real value.

I think there's a big difference between "a fresh server" and "a Classic server." A fresh server eventually becomes the same game with a reset economy. A Classic server offers a fundamentally different experience that can't be found on the current servers.

Maybe it wouldn't appeal to everyone, but I genuinely believe it would bring back many veteran players who no longer feel connected to the current version of the game.

  • Hi All,

i'm a huge fan of the project "bring back the old nosville" but it seems impossible to be done (as mentioned also by COMA).

in the last few days i have started a new adventure which i have called "Hardcore", which means:

Missions: i'm still thinking about it but i'll probably go only for ACT1 (as an old school player) and i'll stop following quests after it. this is just in order to avoid getting exp from 55 to 80 from quests and also to avoid having SP+9 and equipment after it.

I'm still evaluating if i want to use the ACT1 resistances and SPS given by the game.

Buying Items: I won't buy items from other players. The only exception will be NosMall/shop items, such as pets, scrolls, and similar items.

Hero Content: I won't access any of the Hero-related content, which means everything from Act 6 onward will be off-limits.

Selling Items: I'm still undecided about this, but I'm considering not selling items to other players either. I'm still thinking it over, since selling certain dropped items would make it easier to afford NosMall items (for example: Shells, Angel's Feathers, Full Moon Crystals, etc.).

Playing with Other Players: My original plan was to do everything solo (including leveling in LoD), but I realized that might be a bit too extreme, especially since NosTale is designed as a multiplayer game. That said, I'll try to avoid grouping with players who are significantly higher level than I am, so I don't receive the kind of advantage I'm trying to avoid.

if someone is interested to follow my path and play with me, please let me know! i believe that we can play the old school way also in the actual nostale if we follow certain rules!

    thanks
